Websites and portals

Naturalis maintains and develops more than 25 websites and web portals.

In the past external companies were used for this. The ICT section of Naturalis now largely develops these itself and the hosting is also done within the institute.

Websites are also developed and hosted for third parties by a team of web programmers. They are highly experienced in PHP, Java, Javascript, and interaction design, for example. Websites are standardly developed in Drupal. This is a widely used and robust open source content management system with which responsive designs are developed to optimally support mobile platforms as well.
