Naturalis Biodiversity Center works throughout the world in partnership with many commercial and public organizations.

Academic workplaces

Naturalis has structural partnerships with the University of Amsterdam, Leiden University and Wageningen University to realize the exchange of scientific knowledge, to provide academic education and to facilitate innovation in the area of biodiversity. These are the so-called academic workplaces.

Naturalis also has close relationships with other universities and research institutes. For example, it participates in the National Geological Facility in Utrecht. Here Naturalis is collaborating with Utrecht University, VU University Amsterdam, Netherlands Institute of Ecology and Royal Netherlands Institute for Sea Research to set up and run a research facility for high-resolution analysis.

Lector biodiversity and Centre of expertise Genomics

In cooperation with Leiden University of Applied Sciences a lectorate Biodiversity has been set up where Dr. Barbara Gravendeel, researcher at Naturalis, is the lector. Naturalis is also involved in the Centre of expertise Genomics, in which besides Leiden University of Applied Sciences the company BaseClear also participates.
